Guest Services Associate (Store & Floor Staff)
Position Summary
The Guest Services Associate supports the daily operations of the Upper Peninsula Children’s
Museum by working both the front store/check-in desk and the museum floor. This role is
responsible for creating a welcoming, positive experience for every family that walks
through our doors. This is a highly guest-facing position that requires energy, attentiveness,
and a proactive attitude. Team members help maintain a clean, organized, and safe
environment while supporting children and caregivers in their play and learning. All
associates are cross-trained in both store and floor responsibilities.

Store / Front Desk Responsibilities
Check in guests and members accurately through the POS system.
Process admissions, memberships, retail sales, and donations.
Maintain knowledge of membership benefits and pricing.
Answer phone calls and respond to guest questions.
Maintain organized and visually appealing retail displays.
Restock merchandise and notify the Store Manager of low inventory.
Handle cash and transactions accurately.
Promote memberships and upcoming programs when appropriate.
Floor Staff Responsibilities
Monitor exhibit areas to ensure safety and positive guest interactions.
Reset exhibits and materials throughout the day.
Perform light cleaning, including wiping surfaces and organizing materials.
Engage with children and families in a supportive and friendly manner.
Redirect unsafe behavior calmly and respectfully.
Report broken materials or safety concerns immediately.
Support party rentals and special events as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
Arrive on time and ready to work.
Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.
Assist with event set-up and tear-down.
Support a culture of inclusion and respect.
Represent the museum positively at all times.
